  1. Increase your mailing list. This is a matter of ensuring that your mailing application is always busy and this can be done by getting more users into your database. To look for more users, there are several methods that you can use like entering into a strategic partnership with a website, by sending out surveys with a slug to sign-up to view the results of the survey, to create fan pages on social networking websites with a sign-on link, and also by using tools to allow a user to forward your existing emails.
  2. Use the reporting functionality. Some people are just not numbers and this is the reason for many a business to suffer. Email campaign software comes equipped with a reporting functionality that allows you to see how well or not so well your email marketing campaign has been. Reading these reports requires that you learn to understand numbers or that you are at least able to understand the visual descriptions of these.
  3. Using the survey functionality. This is an inbuilt functionality within campaign software that allows you to send out surveys to your entire mailing list. This is a useful technique not only when it comes to ensuring the complete utilization of the software itself, but also as a marketing tool to gauge what your potential or existing customers think about you and your products.
  4. Using templates. Campaign software completely runs off templates and these are required when you do any mass mailing exercise to avoid the duplication of creative efforts every time. Most online or offline campaign software comes equipped with some templates as a bundled service offering; however, if this is not the case, then you must get a hold of free HTML email templates to ensure that you do not end up incurring variable costs every time  you want to start an email marketing campaign.

Apart from these tips that are very email campaign software specific, there are also things you must do beyond the scope of this as well. Ensuring that your mails don’t get snagged in spam filters is one of the most important in this regard. To do this, ensure that you understand how content filters and blacklist-based filters work and avoid all the typical practices that spammers use.
