NO SPAM
NO SPAM

As an email marketer one of the biggest problems you might face is that your bulk emails might be categorized as spam. Having people complain about your emails is never a nice thing. It’s certainly not a great feeling to know that important email messages that you have written are being diverted into the spam mail category. Not to mention the fact that if this goes on for a while, you also run the risk of having your emails being blocked.

There a number of ways in which you can avoid spam complaints; take a look:

1. Provide A Confirmation Step

One way of making sure your emails don’t get mistaken for spam is providing a confirmation step along with the sign-up process. This is a great way to ensure the subscribers whose mail addresses you possess are identical to those who have actually subscribed to your emails. This is also good practice because it serves as a reminder for all those who may have forgotten that they signed up in the first place. Additionally, it ensures the people you are sending bulk emails to are those who genuinely want your emails. Another advantage is that you can delete the addresses of those subscribers are no longer interested. Thus, providing a confirmation step reduces spam complaints considerably.

2. Check Unused Profiles

In case you are getting too many spam complaints it would be advisable to take a look at those profiles that have not been viewed in the last year. Send such people a request that will allow them to confirm if they are still interested in getting your emails. If these people fail to reply, then simply delete them from your mailing list. This is a good way to manage your mailing list and keep it up to date. Maintaining your subscriber list and removing all inactive members is one of the best ways of preventing your emails from being labeled as spam.

3. Check Your Spam Complaints

It would be a good idea for you to take a look at the profiles of those people who have actually complained about your emails being spam. Take a look at their profiles and check whether they have joined recently, how long have they been subscribers and the places they subscribed from. Once you know the answers to these questions you will be in a better position to tackle the issue of your mail being labeled as spam.

Following the above-mentioned techniques and you will significantly reduce the chances of your emails being labelled spam. This will allow you to concentrate on sending your mail to the right target audience which in turn will give you a better response.
